Hello,
A couple of weeks ago I completed my 2nd MODBALL Rally (Gumball but with Modified cars) and once again I took my Fabia (Although we were supposed to be in a Corsa Turbo Van but the oil pump had problems so didn't risk it).
I've finally got all the pics together so here's my report. Hope you enjoy.
Ok, Friday had the day off work to "prep" two of our cars we were taking this year (took 3 in total from my group of friends, My Fabia VRS, A Mk3 Golf VR6 and a SEAT Leon Cupra R)
Saturday midday we drove to the start line at the ACE CAFE in London
Drove down to Dover for the 10:30pm Ferry
The pranks had already started
On the Ferry
And here's Team Boring in there "non stickered" stealthy Leon.
Off the Ferry and on to Geneva
My Co Driver Ben
Hammer Down
Sunrise over Geneva
We were the second team to arrive in Geneva on Sunday morning for the Swiss Tuning show (I think it was because all the thirsty powerful Petrol cars had to stop for gas twice as often as us )
Then sunday afternoon we headed off to Milan
Time for a quick photo opportunity of our 3 cars together
Another short stop
Sleeping like a baby
The smoked numberplates were to try and avoid us any camera speeding fines by the way, whilst we were abroad.
Arrived in Milan along with a load more teams
The following day we headed off to the Monza F1 track
In the morning we took part in a sponsored walk around the circuit
The old banked circuit
Won a prize for being the largest group to take part I think
Took some pics of the group and cars together
Then in the afternoon we got a 30 minute Track session
Then we headed back to the hotel, had some food and went to see Milan city centre
The following day we left Milan and headed for Zagreb
Hammer down again but they were pulling away! doh
View from the Hotel in Zagreb just before it tipped it down!
The boys lovin there complimentry bath robes lol
Woke up in the morning to find the guys in the Ecosse 206 had played a little prank on us for something we did to them the day before...4 flat tyres and some extra stickers.... how nice of them.
On our way to Budapest
Got in convoy with some Black Merc's
Undercover Coppers that had followed us from the Hotel
The skyline got done for 140mph whilst the Evo undertook the Merc a wii bit quicker
And only a couple of 100 Euro fine each.
Then the problems started...
This 320bhp VR6 Supercharged MK2 Golf's Bearings went in the Charger
Whilst this Remapped Focus ST's clutch bit the dust!
Then shortly after we got a 50 Euro fine for not having our headlights on in bright sunshine even though the copper didn't have his on
Anyway, On to Budapest
Bonjour
Another Hotel... Same bathing robe but this time with a free shower cap
Budapest at night
Night out in an Outdoor club.... Which was great until it P*ssed it down then it got even better
Budapest to Prague next (bit hungover so lack of pics im afraid)
We got the Ecosse 206 boys back for letting our tyres down 20 metre's worth of rope should do it
The Z4 got done over again, but not by us.
Prague to the Nurburgring.... Time to go Stealthy (The Police don't like us after we got kicked out of Germany last year)
Leaving Prague
At the Ring but..... There was a giant Rock Festival on, so no chance of getting on Track
So we stopped off at Sabine's (off top gear) Restaurant for a "Cook it yourself" Volcanic Rock Steak! AWESOME
And of course we left our mark
This is the main start/finish straight, people were camping on every part of the track we saw
On our way back to Calais...
Got the 1am Ferry back to Dover
And arrived back home around 6am
A few figures from the Fabia for the week
Average speed for the whole trip of 53mph
53hrs Engine running time
43.1 mpg Average
And we covered 2818 Miles.
Wow! What a week, a few more facts....
I spent around £1200 in total for everything
One of the skylines got clocked by the Police at 188mph!!! And he just got a 400 Euro fine.
Only about 1/2 the teams that entered made it to the finish in Prague.
Go to www.Modball.com if you fancy one of the maddest weeks of your life!!!
Cheers for reading.

That looks the biz. I'm not keen on the Gumball Rally knockoffs but this one seems a lot more fun and laid back

Absolutely no idea mate! Had to back off on the straights as my fuel range gauge was saying I had 10miles worth of fuel left! The Leon only managed 3 laps when his engine started miss firing. The VR6 Filmed his session so i'll have a look at it sometime and see what times he did.
My car topped out at 139mph on the GPS by the way, speedo was at 145mph. Bit dissapointed as its been 150 on the clocks before on the way to the Nurburgring last year. The leon had managed 162mph GPS in the past and the VR6 about 135mph due to gearing.
The Fuel bill for the Leon (including all Toll's, which was quite a bit of it) was around £900 I believe. He managed an average of 33mpg which isn't bad really. But there was 4 people in that team so by the time you split it up it was quite affordable.
Just received some more pics so i'll post them up later. Gald you enjoyed the read
