Cant see why its not repairable?

Most tyre places would advise against tyre wall but its borderline.

Ive had a puncture on the rim by the tyre bead and had it repaired.

Why isn't it repairable??

I had one in nearly the exact place a few weeks ago, went to ATS and they charged £15.

Gutted Marc.

We've got a ruler at work to measure how far from the edge of the tyre a nail can be in relative to the width.

And thats no way near repairable.

really? Its way to close the bend it the tyre. If the tyre loses pressure or you hit a hole, something to cause the tyre to change shape. It will most likely come loose.

Hmm, i might nip somewhere else and get a second opinion.
I dont know how long it has been there for because it was my rear drivers tyre and the screw was on the inside shoulder. Wouldnt have noticed it if i wasnt removing the wheels.

Garage man did mention something to me about it being repairable, but said it was a different procedure to plugging it and is dearer and takes longer.

Luckily my 5th alloy spare was put on for the drivers side Although i wanted to keep that tyre brand new

Edit: Given the tyres are barely 800 miles old i may look at this other method before buying a new tyre...

Thats how they repair car punctures with patches just like a pushbike.

Obviously the patch goes on the inside and the glue is stronger than bike puncture glue but its the same thing really.

Sort of. The car ones have a rubber leg that comes out. This gets pulled through the hole, patch goes to the inner of tyre. Vulcanizing agent is added, left to cure and then hey presto. The reason they don't do the edges is the flexing of the tyre can pull the patch off.

I just meant its the same principle really.

And yes thyre not meant to fix the sidewalls, but ive had a puncture at the bead and they repaired it and it lasted till the tyre wnt bald and considering it was a new tyre it lasted fookin ages lol.
