hi any one can help would be great trying to install xp when i try to remove old 1 it wont let me.
it says setup is unable to perform the requested operation on the selected partition contains tempory set up files that are required to complete the installation.
i wanna wripe all off and start again why hade viruse and cant remove them.

If you want to wipe off and start again you need an install disc not an upgrade one. When you boot to that CD, find the partition and delete it. You will lose everything though.

i have the xp disk tryed installing find the partition and delete it wont let me delete it though

Try formatting the disk too.
Make sure you are booting from the CD.

sounds like your trying to format form windows. you need to restart, go into bios, make cdrom 1st boot device, press any key when it asks, format c: , follow instructions to nstall

thanks all i tried it both ways in and out off windows still same problem booting from cd out off windows as welll cheers i dunno whats up with the bloody thing.when i tryed that from start it loaded straight up cd
