Whats everyone been doing tonight then?
I've spent half the night under a Nissan Micra, changing the sump! What a bloody nightmare that was!!!
Everything that could have broke, did.
Original quote he got from someone else was £350, I charged £100 - I've been robbed!
I need to hear of better (or worse) experiences to make me feel better!!!

Changing a sump? Straight forward job that? Only a few bolts, bit of sealant & changing the oil?

Cross Member off, exhaust dropped (the studs snapped - so need to deal with that tomorrow)
The job as a whole took an hour and a half, but the studs snapping made me mad.

How about a clutch on a Carlton on the ground, with hand tools, during a heatwave.
Or almost an entire exhaust on the ground again, with hand tools, on a Sapphire, in the dark, in the snow.

Worst I've done was converting a Renault Extra van from diesel to 1.8 16v power (a waste of time, and money - the owner was off his head doing this)

I've removed and after rebuild, refitted the gearbox on my RS on the floor before now. That was fun.
Also, I did it in the knowledge that i'd have to do it again.
A little over three thousand miles later and it did indeed need it again.
I haven't driven it since.
