Was on my way home yesterday and seen a nice 2001 X reg silver Corsa C 3 door with a FOR SALE sign in the window parked up, had a walk over but there was no price.....expensive I thought (wanted to pay up to £1600ish for a cheap one).

Text the mobile anyway, and had a reply late lastnight saying they wanted £650 for the car. Rang them up, checked it was all OK (not a write off etc) and an hour later I had it!

Cheap as chips, just needs a replacement front bumper as this one has a scratch on it, and one tyre is on the legal limit. Even put 6 months tax on for me and MOT till Feb 2009!

Just shows if you don't ask you dont get! also came with half tank of juice, goos pare, all documents etc and just had oil change 6 weeks ago.

UPDATE with pics.....done 400 miles in it now and it runs better then my other 53 reg silver one!

The day I got it:

gave it a good clean, fixed a few daft bits, and put 14s on it:

Corsa C Club, we already have 2 other corsa C's on the drive and a B, and this is the 11th one I have bought for me (along with 5/6 others I have looked over for mates)

the lady had gone to part ex it on the new zafira she bought, garage offered her £600 for it, so she decided to sell it privatley instead as she didnt like the garage

not stolen, not scrapped, not write off, owned by her for 2 years, just has cosmentic damage on front bumper so £600 offered by a garage seems about right in its current state?

If its all legit then fair play to you, cant say I would turn down a 2001 plate car for £650 that only had cosmetic damage, if anything id run it into the ground as a proper cheap runabout or get the bumper sorted and pass it on. With it being a club some desperate parent will buy it overpriced for their kid. Tidy profit for you

You could sell that for at least £2k if the mileage is ok, general condition ok after you've sorted the bumper.

AK - they are cheap to run for work, and good fun to mess about with. 6 or 7 of those have been bought to sell

Last corsa B i bought (well bought 2 the same weekend) have used every day for 3 years and loved it, cheap to run, insure, tax etc

keeps the BMW for weekends and sunny weather!

just got it home after work

insured it for the same price as my B

swapped the shitty 13s for some 14s I have and some new trims

ripped the manky seat covers off to find perfect seats underneath

fixed the rattle on the passenger side (was just the seatbelt hitting the side)

fixed the passenger door (needed tightening)

cleaned it a bit and took the daft window stickers off and emptied the boot

off to wash her now
