Make sure you keep using your aircon Phi. They go all shit when the system hasn't been used for long periods.

no bad idea. Keep the air con its loads better than sweating your balls off in the car only to hope that if you go faster you will get cooler.

Air con is the way forward, i love to sit in my car cool as a cucumber when in a traffic jam

It doesnt go shitty. If its not used often enough, the rubber seals on the air con pipes dry up and perish, causing it to leak, should use it at least once a week. And get it re-gassed every 3 years.

something like a forte air con bomb will also help. from halfords or a motor factors. change the pollen filter, then put the air con on full, on recirc, with all the window shut, set the canister off then leave it for 20mins. wont make it any cooler but gets rid of any stale smells and makes it feel fresher.

its also worth noting that generally the reduction in mpg from having windows open (drag) is worse then having the air con on.

halfords and quikfit are fine for a cheap re-gas, but i doubt they leak check it for that price. It would work out cheaper in the long run to have it checked somewhere thats more qualified. might be more like £80 though. but would save having it regased every few months if it needs a new condenser e.t.c
