What are the Astra G coupe's like?

Im looking at buying a 1.8 16v coupe with red leather. What are the performance like on these? I know my 1.4 sport is as fast as the 1.6 16v astra's, so is this the equivalent to the 1.6 corsa?

Any things i should be looking for?

8.5 in the book to 60 comparing to 9.5 book on a Corsa, but there won't be much in it on the road.

There's not really many common faults on them, usual stuff really based on mileage probably service history, cam belt, brakes that type of thing. Look for a bit of spec as well, there are plenty about and you may find one with the 17s / climate / nav if you keep your eyes out.

Quite quick for what they are, nice and comfy. Well put together. Decent enough cars for the money.

Cambelt should be done every 40k, they tend to be pretty reliable to be honest.

So for an 18year old a 1.8 should be more than enough then ?

Is there much for tuning on these engines too?

Defo, obviously it won't knock your socks off but they have more than enough power for every day driving.
