No it's not.
I take it you know the ins and out of lithium ion and lithium polymer batteries and not just what you've seen on a training powerpoint?

yes.
lithium ion batteries charge in 4 cycles from new, as after an initial charge, there is no overcharge facility, each cycle takin between 3.5-4 hours depending on the cell cycle rate.
taken from yahoo search.
personally, every phone i have had i have charged overnight and battery has been awesome. but if john says im wrong, so be it.

Every phone i've had since my ericsson T10 hasn't been charged overnight and the batteries have been awesome.
Funny how i've not been told to charge my li-ion laptop battery for 16 hours before use isn't it, must be a different type of lithium and ions they use

I traded it in for the black higher specced version, I think it had voice dialing and the T10 didn't, T18 I think it was.
I used to get much more excited about phones than I do now, there's nothing really new in them anymore

T10 was probably Nicad still, nicad batteries have a memory effect which is where all that guff comes from.
I've also got about 20 li-ion batteries sitting in front of me for my torches, again none say to charge for 16 hours.

SMB, that was right at the top of a google btw, and it's actually correct, unlike what you think and what you found on yahoo answers.
