looking to get a couple of harness's and wondered why some are 3 point 4, 5 etc

Normal seatbelt is 3, ie. pillar and either side of your lap.
Four is two over your shoulders, left lap and right lap. Five adds a crotch strap.

Nearly Ian:
3 point harness has one strap going over each shoulder, but both joining to become one before being mounted to the car, whereas a 4 point keeps the two separate straps over the shoulder, which mount to two different places.

The POINT refers to the fixing points.

oh right ok.
So 4 point can bolt purely to the 4 bolts on the seat subframe and 3 will go each side on the front two bolts on the subframe and then into the seat belt buckle bolt in the back?

I want some that i dont have to bolt into the back seats  and ive seen some somewhere where you just use the bolts on the subframes

you cant have harness then.
They would need to go to there, mounting them anywhere else is just not safe.

Do it proper...You'll pretty much lose your back seats, so take them out. Especially with the 4 point.
You'll also have a choice of fixings - straight bolt down or an eyelet and clip.
The latter means you can unclip them easily to roll your seat forward or find space for stuff. I've got a set of these and i find being able to unclip them really handy when i'm putting bulky stuff in the back.

buckets have rigid high sides.... you wont be held tight, or as tight as would in an OE seat.
Are they fixed back buckets? If so no one can get in the back anyway
