my car is very very sluggish and wont go past 4.5k revs. very hesitant, so i take air flow meter off and turn the pipe around , car then runs absolutely mint, pulls all the way to 7k revs BUT on idling it cuts out.
if i put the air flow meter then back round the right way it idles fine BUT hesitates?

Try a new AFM then.....? 
How much are they? Have you tried GSF?

£50 on the bay. but its just odd that the car runs fine when i have it the wrong way round? but just dont idle great

i have not tried, i shall try. cant run it without it plugged in at all though surely

should be able to... dont drive it for too long as it'll wash your bores a bit.
