I have just got a windows xp laptop and have setup my IMAP email on Outlook.

When I have an email I dont want to keep , I press delete, but it just puts a line through it and stays in the Inbox.

How do I remove it from there altgether so it isnt seen?

go into the options at the top and find purge emails
