another civic ek9? i love the 350z, the noise, the looks, all that stuff, but i keep thinking...i want another ek9, they're excellent.
i could sell the 350z, get rid of the debt on it, and it'll be cheaper to run/get bits for all that sorta stuff.
is it a good idea? has anyone ever paid off finance if so whats involved?

my brother paid off finance but he then re-financed with another company.
all you have to do is pay the settlement figure and thats it, although alot of motor companys have additional charges, like admin fees

well i'd clear my debt, it'd be cheaper to run/tax/insure/service/get bits for, and the ek9 was the best car i ever had and i just really fancy another!
only thing that's really putting me off...is the 350z resale value, they seem to be going for about 15k, i paid 20k in nov 2007

If you can afford to keep the 350z don't go back to an EK9, huge down grade IMO!

phone me mate and i can get you a loan yeh would need to gather the outstanding balance and pay it off. so technically you would need a loan for the outstanding price on the 350 and money for your ek9 unless you have savings.

i'm not struggling with it really, i could just be alot better off with no debt, rather than shelling out £360 on finance plus fuel etc, and it needs servicing etc done at a dealers, it all adds up.
plus i'm getting to the stage i'm bored with it, i want more power, and that costs mega bucks. but its soo pretty, argh.

It all depends on what you owe on the Z though? If the settlement figure is less than the value of the car, then obviously you won't need a loan. But I'm guessing you will need one for the paying of the finance, AND an EK9. Either way, I think a loan s better than finance

the finance was around 10k, so it must be about 7k i owe, pay that off, sell the 350 for say...17k, i have 10k change. which is a fuck load for an ek9.
daniel i'd say the ek9 is only a downgrade in poser and age factors, ek9's are superb cars, mind you they don't go sideways round roundabouts

best thing to do is speak to your financer and book a financial review with your local branch or independant advisor then you can weight stuff up.
i would also like to add i wish i had your problem of downgrading to a type R lol

I think you need your head testing! How much did the wheels set you back on the 350z? They have recently lost a lot of value, think it would be a bad time to sell.
Some accord/integra thing accelerated past me tonight (think it was an integra), with a big exhaust on, sounded proper crap, as my mates put it you arn't really interested in cars, "sounds like its about to blow up".

Independent advisor - we're not comparing mortgage packages here.
Get a settlement figure, find out what the car is worth, the difference is what you can spend on the next car.

well i had a quick look and once i'd paid off the finance and sold the 350z for a realistic price i'd be able to get an ek9 debt free.
and the wheels didnt cost much
i wouldnt be buying a civic to blat past people going "look at me spoon bruv, proper jdm init"

A DC2 integra wanted a race the other day, alot of noise and it didnt seem to go anywhere. They may be "hip" but a big loud exhaust makes you as much of a "chav" as a corsa with a big exhaust IMO. Looked like a bell end
Re your problem, if you need the spare cash sell up now, cars will only depreciate. If you dont "need" to then keep it.
I too lost alot of money on my car since i have bought it. Bloody credit crunch!
