JUST HAD MY V6 BRAKE SETUP THAT I BOUGHT A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO FITTED.

but the problem is the piston on the cariper is only hitting half the pad so i'm getting a long brake pedal and half contact on the disc as its twisting the pad

has anyone else had this how did you cure it?

the mechanic who fitted them said i will probably need bigger discs and pads?

what size disk's you got?

also, could have the wrong pad's for them?

if youve gone and stuck v6 calipers and carryers on a standard disk then its not gona be getting the correct contact area...

take it apart and see if the pad is worn evenly.

if you dont have the metal spring clip it will twist the caliper. causing the uneven wear you see on the front....

I'd say it was down to the clip mate, I think Haimsey had a similar problem when he put the clip the wrong way round on he's 2l brakes

just been to halfords and there is 3 sizes of pad

i currenly have the middle on i think so gonna go get the biggest ones on monday and the pad clip and the anti rattle clips too

hopefully should sort it

Yes it is VITAL.
It stops the caliper moving away from the bracket. Without the clips the brakes hardly work at all.

And thats probably causing your problem! The caliper isn't staying still when you brake, so the pad can move about.
