Got a chance to pick up one of these el cheapo with tomtom software preloaded.
What are they like?
Easy to use?
Is the tomtom stuff as good as a dedicated sat nav?
Any bad points?
Cheers

Very easy to use, great screen etc.

TBH I won't use for much else other than texting/talking and sat-nav in the car, so I would think the battery would last me quite a while.
Anything more than 3 days (which is all my battered old phone currently does) would be fine.

The battery will die before you get half way to your destination - even if it's the petrol station at the end of the road!

Is the battery life really that poor. Nokia reckon 220 hours standby. Even if you took half that it works out to be 3 and a half days.
Not so worried about battery in the car, I'd hook it up to a car charger like a normal tomtom as I'd expect it to not last too well. I only lightly use my current phone anyway (would rather use the phone at my office desk ) but would be pretty pissed off having to recharge every day.

Oh, by the way I am looking at the 8gb model (black) not the older silver one.
Probably should have stated that earlier, didn't realise there were two versions

I have noticed the shocking battery life. If I'm on the phone for an hour or so, it seems to drink battery. I don't have any applications and I just use it for texting/phonecalls really. I usually have to charge it each night. this is usually just precaution so make sure it gets through my night shift the next night, can't have it running out
Other than that I can't really fault it. Camera is awesome
