hi just wondering what an ideal lens would be for taking some motorsport shots...

basically a mate is going up for a driving experience up at thruxton and im going to go along and take some photos of him driving etc... i have only got the standard canon 18-55 lens but i think i may just be able to get hold of a 70-300 would that be an ideal lens or what would you recommend? cheers

I have the sigma 70-200 F2.8. Cracking lens for motorsport. Other than that Canon 70-200 F4 L, witch is the lens is going to get to replace my sigma.

Ive not really seen much with the 70-300 so i cant comment on that.

I have the Nikon 70-300VR which is a superb lens.

Depend entirely on your budget.

If you haven't got a lot to spend, and not sure if you'll use the lens in the future, why not try hiring one?
