FFS get over it! They only sing it to wind up the Celtic and that's exactly what it does...... they know they get a good reaction so they do/will sing it EVERY time they play each other!!!
Abusive songs get hurled back and forwards every time Sheff Utd play Wednesday - all part of the banter

We're trying to rid our country of the sectarianism that cripples us, thank you for your valued input though Ste

didn't mean anything by it...... just simply trying to say that it will never stop. I'm sure there's songs Celtic sing to wind up the Gers

There is, the difference being we've all but wiped it out in a public sense.

I'm not condoning bigotry, however some things have to be taken with a pinch of salt. They may aswell stop all singing at Old firm games because no matter what is sung by either set of supporters the others will find something to complain about.
I get called a hun on a daily basis and it doesn't bother me, its all part of the banter imo. I wouldn't think twice about calling my Celtic supporting mates Tims or tattie munchers and they laugh it off the same as I do. I personally think people are becoming far too touchy and shpuld lighten up a bit. Sticks and stones will break my bones but names will never hurt me.
p.s. wheres edd when you need him!!

Not a peep from the media as it's been swept under the carpet for the most part, Celtic have been fully aware of it.
You have 1 Graham Spiers, a rangers fan, to thank for it being brought into the public domain this time not Celtic.
I'll find you the article if you so wish.

Goin by the story there was only one fan actually complained about it, its an Oldfirm game ffs do you want us to all turn up holding hands?
An Oldfirm game wouldn't be the same if there wasn't banter of that kind becasue thats all it is. The biggest and most passionate game in European football would become a laughing stock.

still dont see the problem with it.
i find this more a problem yet its been swept under as usual -
Celtic fans chanting and singing in support of the IRA at Motherwell on Saturday - are the media, Irish goverment, and the football authorities deaf and dumb.
Celtic fan songs include ones about:-
Nacho Novo dying in his sleep
Mocking Davie Cooper’s death
Raping the Queen
In the last week:-
Nacho Novo’s address being published and encouraging people to attack him
Alan McGregor’s car attacked
Andy Goram’s pub in Blantyre being being attacked - windows smashed and spray painted
yes taken from followfollow but pretty valid points none the less.
football, its all prawn sandwiches and shut your mouth now. whos going to be the first to complain about banners being done on white sheets being racist etc..

That was a fairly built up rant that one
Like i said, Celtic haven't wiped it out either and it still exists. There is zero tolerance policy at Parkhead though i know this to be 100% fact. One mention of 'I.R.A' or anything of that nature and your kicked out the door.
There were songs that could be construed as terrorist appraisal at Fir Park, again i've spoken out about it on Celtic forums, it doesn't have to be brandished in public and it is holding our club back.

some rant there Jamie. Valid points though imo, the sectarianism between the old firm is double edged, both are as bad as each other it seems. Its a grass roots problem, however as I said previously some off it is banter and Celtic fans singing songs about the IRA only bothers me in the fact that it doesn't seem to get noticed the same as Rangers fans singing naughty songs does.
It is banter imo, and I would never complain about any song sung at a football match, if your not thick skinned enough to go to an old firm game or any game for that matter just don't go.

been holding that for a while
both clubs have theyre bad lot, ours maybe has more than yours but its not all as clean cut as celtic are made out to be
i personally love the banter and couldnt imagine old firm games without it, its what makes them and long may it continue
