Just having a discussion with my mate about them

Just some quick questions

Which one is ......
faster in a straight line?
faster round a corner?
which weights less?
which will spend more time being fixed than on the road?

What are the things that would typically go wrong with an Mi16 then?

Well this weekend i took a 306 gti 6 in p/x and was thinking about trading that in to get a 205 as a daily runner as long as the engines aren't bad i could live with the fact of the shell and beam being abit french

Mi16 engine itself is fantastic. And it will easily outpace an XE'd Corsa. But that's because it has more power, and is lighter!

I dont think mi-16's are super fast TBH, they are faster and handle better than an XE corsa in my eye's.

Problems, shells rotting, inner arches, sils and rear quater, rear beams are poo but easily rebuilt.

early mi16 160 BHP late 150 BHP, not sure how they change the handling characteristics on a 205 as IIRC its a tight fit and alot of the are bodged in with the engine at an angle.

TBH they are quick but for straight line speed against an XE corsa,i dont think they are as quick as folk are making them out to be.IMO theyr wouldnt be much in it.

Maybe with the 1600 gearbox it would have the slight edge but it wouldnt tear a corsa a new 1.

And also on track ive seen plenty XE corsas stick with mi 205s.But that could just be down to the way either car has been set-up or how good the drivers are.
