I was reading on here the orther night that someone's putting a 2.3 turbo from some sort of aero in a corsa. If I come across it I'll link it.

yeah there was a link to pistonheads the other week some guy had put a 3.0 v6 into a matt black nova..bit of a shed though

a saab 2.3 might have something to do with me. paid 150 quid for the lot engine ecu etc. we just need a f28 for it so we can drop it in and make the mounts

have you fitted the engine? does it fit on mounts okay?would it fit to f20 box?

not a clue we not even got a box yet. we just bought i hoping we could fit it in. need to cut the sump up and shorten it as it sits 100mm lower than a c20xe.

it will fit the wiring looks easy enough. if you get one ill sell you the mount for it

why will it not go straigh onto my redtop mounts?is clearence etc all okay?(alternator,bulkhead etc)

no wont fit redtop mounts. the gearbox ones are same as you use a f20. but the drivers side needs to be different it quite a lot lower down that a redtop mount. only other thing is you need an electric waterpump as the standard one is huge and sticks out the front of the engine. measured it all up and for bulkhead clearance theres a lot more room.

no problem at all. until we get it mounted i know fook all really. we just have an engine swinging around. il get some pics for you if i go up to my lock up tomorrow

Im just doing some research on this at the moment for some stuff Im writing in total vauxhall about it.
Its not just the ones that come with vauxhall engines that you can use, its also the saab engines that come with an adaptor plate to sit them on a F20 gearbox.

just to pick your brains more...you say you think there will be water pump clearence issues...??
and what saab did you get yours out of? the later ones have immobilsers dont they? what year engine do i need to be looking at? what are your views on the 2 litre tubro model? would they fit a gm box?( i know there only 185 bhp but it would be cool to do and hopefully cheap)

not a clue if its got an immob really we know fook all about it tbh. were just running on hopes and dreams at the min. id go for the 2.3 over the 2.0. bit rarer but should be more interesting with the boost wound up.

ive been having a good look into the best i can but there isnt a lot on mig or here,i was looking at the 2.3-one with just an intercooler and dump valve would surfice me (for now lol) what did you get your lump out of? 900? 9000? 9-3? and what reg, ive read i should be looking for a 94 engine ideally but nobody has concrete answers
