Just got the keys to our new Liverpool shop on Monday. Its roughly 5,000sq ft, and was formerly a dry cleaners. The guy has taken all his machines (massive fookers!) out, and the place is a right state. Got a few pics of the front room, but camera died, so will have more tonight after I go again this afternoon.
Plans (which I'll also post later) are to gut the whole place, knock the small rooms between the main front and back rooms down to have one big open space, and then fit it out from there to have 3 selling areas (mid range dresses, couture dresses, and bridesmaids) as well as 5 private viewing/changing rooms.
Anyway...
View to front
View from front to back of front room
View down towards the back room (small rooms on each side)
Lots of work

Er....5. Tarleton, Southport, Preston, Chester and Liverpool.
Their should of been a second one in Chester but the sellers were pissing around right upto the day we should of exchanged so we pulled the plug on the deal. Also looking around for premises to open a sale/discount type shop so we can get rid of any old sample/discountinued dresses from all the shops.
Robbo - its in Woolton Village. A nice area around where a load of footy players and other rich people live.

Here are some pics of the back room. Got their after they cleared half of it, as also had about 5 studded walled rooms, but they had been ripped out by the time these got taken. All those rooms you can see (brick walls) are coming out so its one massive open room.
The door behind where they have knocked some of the wall down leads to the front.
Recognise this guy Joe?!

fair size for a former dry cleaners. should be good when sorted. are you doing any of the planning yourselves or do you just let shop fitters do it all?

I do it all myself.
Got the surveyor to laser measure all the rooms when he did the survey, I got them and put it into Google sketch up and then figured what I wanted where!!
Will upload those now.

Front...
Reception kind of area by where you come in. Two private fitting/viewing rooms behind this. Mid range bridal gowns behind these (prices about £500-£1200). All the small rooms removed to give an open entrance to the back, the accessories will go here too. Disabled WC on the left.
Back....
Coming through from the front their is a big store room and then another fitting/viewing room. Big bridesmaids room on the other side with 4 big changing rooms. The couture bridal gowns at the back (prices about £1500 upto £3500+), this has two more viewing/fitting rooms in it.

Looking good, thats a big old shop, must of been a massive dry cleaners beforehand!
Impressive planning if you've done it all on your own, any ideas how much its going to cost to refit it all to those plans?
Your going to need like leaflets or something to advertise it aren't you?

Yeah it was a masive dry cleaners, they had some huge machines in there. Although the back bit was mostly empty with just a bit of storage going on. Their is an upstairs I havent even mentioned yet!!
Yup all on my own Only things that got done for me was the survey/measuring, and then they took a top down look of that 3D thing and drew it out to scale so the builders had something to work off.
And yes, you know you'll have some work coming your way soon enough, waiting for the two big big bosses to get their asses back from holiday so I can go over things with them.

Fair enough planning all that thats impressive, i mean I thought i was clever when i measured up my living room and planned where everything was going to go, even then it didn't work out to plan!
Ah ok fair doo's i'll keep quiet then, just gimme a shout whenever as i'm still free at the moment and will be for a while.
Still amazed at the size of the shop as a cleaners, round by me most dry cleaners are like a tiny hallway type shop!

I had a few smaller ones to learn on first, will post up some pics when Ive time - never done anything this size though so will be interesting.
Have a great builder/joiner though who has worked on all the others who is a great help though when it comes to this building stage.
