It isn't just about top speed - more how you get there.

Some say ti's a myth, some say theres evidence, but all in all:-
Maybe it's something to do with because its a straight through, theres no pressure in the system?

you may have lost power but gained in torque.....get it on the rollers!
it is said however that losing pressure will lose power

Bore sizes give different gains.
Larger bore, less torque, more peak power.
Small bore, more torque, less peak power.
I think its that way round anyway.
From memory, Remus has a STANDARD exhaust bore to the rear box. So the only increase your really getting is a slight less restrictive middle box, and rear can.
Being straight through will only really effect an NA engine if you've gone too large. Doesn't work like a turbo where you need the gasses out as fast as possible.

Would have thought it was the other way round tbh - the faster the gasses are leaving, the easier it'll be for the engine to turn, thus creating more torque?
Just a theory, possibly monumentally wrong.

I always thouight that straight through gives better flow characterists so you should get MORE power, how weird

Well on my old bike I could reach 142 on the clocks with an exhaust, when the silencer came loose and came off I could only do 125, I imagine it's the same situation?

you can setup the management to work with the exhaust better.
