. . .so yeah, had a new clutch kit fitted which cost me £280

Anyway, it drives absolutely fine, albeit weird compared to what it use to - biting point is totally different.

The problem I have, is that when in neutral and handbrake on, from inside the car I can hear a scrapping type noise, or something spinning and grinding on something as such. When I depress the clutch, the noise goes - so it is as if something isn't engaging/disengaging properly.

Is this normal with a new clutch until it 'beds in'? Or hasn't it been fitted properly?!

I do plan on phoning where I got it done, but obviously they aren't open now, so can't till the morning.

Also, is it going to be ok to drive with such symptoms?

if theyt havent fitted a new one id be asking why when you paid £280

All that is detailed on the invoice was 'Clutch kit' and charged me £78.30+VAT for it. This was a Bosch Service Centre, I thought I was going to get a good service

@ 'they' spelt 'theyt' 3 times

I think I've got the same problem on my XE - when I depress the clutch it's like a whirring/'squeltchy' noise.

Is it something that me and deano should be getting fixed?

The noise goes away when I press the clutch down?

Changes gear fine and doesn't slip or anything, I'll just call them first thing tomorrow and explain. Got Uni the next few days though - hopefully can get a courtesy car.

He said he did and it was fine. Doesn't mean to say he sat in the car with a neutral for ages - that is only when it makes noises.

Sorry, read it wrong. Just that I've been told that could be my CRB as well.

I'm as confused as you now.

Here's to hoping - if I drive it with it doing this, will I cause much damage?

I'll be doing about 100 miles between now and being able to get the car to them, unless they have a courtesy car available so it should be ok. I'll take it easy
