getting a new surround sound system upgrading from 2.1 to 5.1
found a good system but it has 4 tall boy speakers but i would really only want 2
if i was to have the speakers positioned where the blue sections are on the diagram below would i get bad sound?
i sit on sofa 1 mainly

should be either side of the tv for the full effect, wont sound right otherwise

Agreed with what ash has said. It'll sound like the sound is coming from the fireplace otherwise.

I have the 2 smaller, and the middle speaker in the TV stand, the sub is just next to it and the 2 taller floor standing speakers at the back of the room, on opposite sides.
