A Gooner at work was genuinely miffed as to why 'Arry went to Spurs, but rejected the advances of Newcastle.
Is it just me that thinks Spurs are the bigger club? He wasn't having any of it! Red tinted goggles I reckon....

as a Spurs fan im bound to say Spurs, but i think the thing is with Newcastle is they have a big following all in one area, where as Spurs are more spread out if that makes sense, and from a finances side of view I would say SPurs are a much bigger club!

Tough call, very similar sized imo. Edging to the London club though.

I'd say in terms of history and recent achievements Spurs are a bigger club but I'd have to disagree when it comes to finances, fanbase and facilities

Better stadium - Newcastle
Better supporters - Newcastle
Better chance of success - Spurs
Better club - Spurs

Weird one, Spurs have had good management in the past i don't think Newcastle ever have. I think the reason Redknapp chose Spurs is the squad they have just now is miles ahead of Newcastle's on paper.
Probably Spurs by a whisker but the one constant at a football club is the fans, for that reason Newcastle will always be a fairly 'big' club.

Keegan has been the nearest thing to a good manager for Newcastle. Couple of seasons and I reckon he could have got them back in to Europe.

Yeah he probably would have done a decent job. Mitigating circumstances, as usual with Newcastle, dictated otherwise.

Newcastle, Bobby Robson? Keegan doesn't even get close to him.
Check out the league postitions Newcastle finished in when he was in charge.

Again did the board back him all the way?
They played some really good stuff under Robson but there was no way he was challenging for title's with the amount of money available to him.

No but Champions League qualification is something they could only dream of these days.

Very true, they're going backwards at a time the top half is going the opposite direction at an alarming rate!

Harry likes London, he's a proper cockney so do you think Newcastle would accept him even if he doesn't win everything, I also think Spurs seem to spash the cash every season and Redknapp knows how to use it. And he's good at spotting who's any good and who isn't, so I think he'll have a clear out in January and bring effective players in rather than just good reputational players who don't do anything.

Newcastle have a bigger and better fanbase imo. I would prefer to manage Newcastle over Spurs if it was me. Newcastle should be able to dominate their locality (Middlesborough and Sunderland) whereas Spurs have Chelsea and Arsenal to contend with.
IMO there is more chance of becoming successful at Newcastle.

There would be more chance of becoming successful if you had a regional championship, but it doesn't exist, you lose a match at Newcastle and the fans want you dead, how loyal is that?

Completely disagree on all levels, newcastle may have a larger fanbase but the fans are even more deluded than tottenhams. They have a slightly worse board, less money. Spurs still have a decent fanbase and the board and fans will at least give him a chance to turn it around

Thats just because of your taxi driver experience Tom
Generally I prefer Northern clubs to Southern clubs so thats probably why I am biased towards Newcastle.

The taxi thing probably didn't help gus I still think the fans expect too much too soon and make a big deal over stuff they obviously don't understand.
I don't really like any other clubs apart from my own though!
