right little more info, do the lights come on when the power pack it plugged in, meening no problem with the power adapter.

any noise, signs of life when the power button is pressed?

yeh the light on the power pack/lead is on

the button click's but no light's ? i have treid most common thing's like holding the battery to the machine etc

vaio's are rubbish, mine just does what it wants some things work only when they see fit. it doesnt hibernate when i close it anymore

try not using the Power pack & the battery use one or the other (if it makes sense)
