think i may have broke something,
i changed my steering wheel ages ago to an aftermarket one, now ive got bored of it and wanted to change back so had a quick attempt earlier,
you do the usual where you undo the nut to the end of the thread and then wack the fuck out of it with a hammer and puncher thing, anyway started doing that then the nut wouldnt undo any further as it was mega tight so i wacked it again and something went wrong and now my steering wont lock or anything, i can turn the steering wheel the whole way round without the keys in and my boss behind the steering wheel is now rubbing on the caseing what covers the steering column, any chance on someone telling me what ive done wrong and broke haha?
any help appreciated
thanks all

i'd say you've either buggered/bent the boss, and damaged the threads or damaged the steering rack
Sounds as if you have def snapped the steering lock - not a biggie if you dont care about that.
