I would say it will be far more fun that the focus, a 140 sri or v6 sri, the v6 isnt mega fast but it isnt slow either.

What year is R reg, about '97?
It should be the V6 one if it is.
I would, but it depends on the car. If it's 100% rust then obviously no.
Tbh you've provided minimal information about both cars.
It's like saying "should I get a new pair of shoes".

SRi over Focus estate any day. The noise alone is worth it!

its a 2.0, the milage on the focus is around 80,000 and the sri is around 100,000 i belive. is there meant to be a car tax increase soon?

I'd stick with what you've got unless you're really bored with the focus. The 2.0 sri 140 is actually 134bhp and not the most thrilling ride in the world.

If there is a car tax increase it will be the same for both cars as theyre both before 2001
2.0 ecotec engine isnt the best, performance isnt brilliant and they drink the fuel.
Id stay with the focus myself, even though i drive a vectra

hmm....both are pretty crap if you ask me, my gf has a 53 plate focus which is fucked at 65000 miles, and my mate has a 2.0 (cdx model i think) and the the gearbox has gone again after 7000miles lol, and as for noise of them, heard 1.2 engine better than an sri veccy...if i was you stay with the focus, done less miles, unless the car has given you nothing but trouble then get rid of it
