none will provide a different sound unless you dril the airbox iirc.

big foam ones give you noise but it will flat stop to feck.
big foam ones are the likes of pipercross or pvd, i would always suggested an enclosed one though, like bmc and pipercross viper.
personally i think a drilled airbox sounds better and looks better.

ive got a drilled airbox (about 15 1/4" holes as i wanted it subtle) and a pipercross panel filter, gives off a nice subtle tone..
