Bascially;

I'm picking someone up from Manchester airport, and taking them to Scunthorpe, i live in Grimsby. It's roughly a 250 mile round trip.
I'm getting paid £160 for it, which i've worked out as 63p a mile.
Now, how can i make my fuel last longer?
Tire pressures etc..?

Cheers Guys

Pump up your tyres to the correct pressure for carrying a full load, people, luggage etc. This is not only for fuel economy, but safety as well.

Don't rag the car is a simple answer. Not a lot you can do with people and luggage.

It should still be less than 63p/mile easily. Depending on the car you won't even spend £60 on fuel.

What are the correct tyre pressures in a corsa? I always thought 32psi was correct...

31 front 29 rear was what I used for mine - I averaged 440 miles to a full tank

I got 215 miles from twenty quid last week on stop start journeys.

You could bounce a 1.2 8v off the limiter for 250 miles and you'd still make money.

remove unnecesary weight
leave a big gap so you can regulate your speed to something constant. plan in advance for overtaking lorries so you don't end up having to slow down.

I've heard people of getting absolutely ridiculous MPG in their 1.2 8v's regardless of driving habits

How long have you been driving? And you still need to make a thread about how to drive with MPG in mind?
