Most of the play is likely to be in the gear linkage, do you know where to look?

Worn linkage You can get repair kits that replace the bushes or just buy a new complete linkage

What car?
Every Corsa B (and Vauxhall of a similar age for that matter, 1993-2000) has had a wobbly gear stick in gear. My missus' Fiesta one isn't though. Just thought it was a feature of Vauxhalls.
