Hi all,
I'm sure there has been plenty previous posts about doing this but i can't seem to find the search function anymore?
Thinking of buying the C20Xe engine and adding the turbo etc..... Does anyone have any information about doing this if possible.
Thanks.

IIRC it's a case of drilling out the oil feed ('cus its cast into the block, but sealed on the XE), then fitting lower comp' pistons, the c20let inlet/exhaust pipework and the turbo.
Though i'm sure one of the lads off here did it in a nova and it was featured in total vauxhall fairly recently.

The idea is to uprate the internals and turbo/manifold.

Why buy a c20xe and convert it?

cause to turbo an XE you have to lower the compression, and get the mangement, turbo and manifolds,
a let has this all ready done, I cant see a logical reason for turboing an XE

I believe Jambo's old Corsa Let used to be an XE.

Well a LET is about 1k then i'd have to replace the desired parts. Xe is only about 200 - 300.

well you would then pay £300 for an XE + replacing desired parts THEN have to buy things that are all ready on a LET

The things that are already on a LET? Manifolds and pistons would be getting replaced anyway. I'm not wanting this to turn into a debate....just looking for some information on what is needed to be done...

My corsa LET used to be an XE. If you want some advice it will be cheaper to buy a c20xe. It's a nightmare.

No. I bought the bottom end which was a c20xe which was converted to a let. You need c20let camshafts, top hat, throttle body, oil feed, oil return, various hoses, loom, ecu, sensors, boost pipes, intercooler, air flow metre, amal valve, pistons & rods & turbo & manifold.

if going for high power, i'd use an xe engine, as it's cheaper..
if wanting standard power, may aswell just use a proper let engine

Migweb is a decent starting point for buying c20let parts or ebay.
