How easy is it? I've tried doing it on my new laptop that came with XP but it says cannot locate HDD's.
I've been told it is possible however

The downgrade is installing xp from scratch, you can't downgrade in that sense of the word.
Why are you going back to a 7 year old OS?

Certain things are not working and I just generally prefer the feel and speed of XP

All the data you want to keep, as it will have to format the hard drive to install XP.

No but, it wont let me as during the XP installation it says "Cannot locate hard drive". How do I make it locate a hard drive?
I've been told this will happen on all preinstalled vista machines
