This could go late into the night
Sport vs Phase 1 VTR... Vtr will win in a straight line, outbrake, and outhandle the Sport.
Sport vs Phase 2 VTR... Will be the same result, except it'll be MUCH quicker in a straight line.

Pretty much what Eck says, Phase 1 is a fair bit slower than the Phase 2.

Oh, and pros and cons:
Saxo - Awesome chuckability out of the box. Strong wee engine, quick and really impressive MPG. ABS as standard. More reliable than they are made out to be.
Corsa: Decently quick, ok handling. Pretty good mpg. Electric windows etc. Ripe for conversions.

The 16v is faster than an 8v Nik?
Edit: But not THAT much slower.

Corsa 8v is cack for tuning, speak to Jr about tuning the 1.4 16v, 136bhp out of one and was as quick as an 20XE.

He spent a small fortune on that did he not? Back when J18 actually moved under its own propulsion.

Hmm well it seems that a standard 90bhp P1 saxo cant be all that much quicker than a 1.4 16v sport.
When my old Corsa had the 1.4 8v Sri lump,a P2 Saxo couldnt get away. And that was with me having a massive bend in the downpipe, resulting in the corsa not being as quick as it should.
I dont know what it wouldve been like on take-off as my wee run happened at around 70+ on the dual carriageway.

The driver must have been shite, or the car fecked then mate My old VTR when in standard form was pretty much neck and neck with my mates 1.6 Sport. And with 0-60 in about 9 seconds, it'd leave a 1.4 Sport for dead. And with an 8v SRi having about 80bhp, and the P1 VTR 90, the only thing that I can think of is the Saxo driver had a pallet of bricks in the back as weight isn't in the SRi's favour either

Well maybe you should edit your post.
When some1 says "what is quicker" then i,like most others, would assume you are talking about acceleration, top end,in gear speeds etc.
If you had said, whats the better all rounder, then i wouldnt have posted what i did.
I cant comment on what you "want to know" as i have no experience of the VTR.
My blast happend on a Sunday morning on the way to pick something up.Was nothing hairy involved, just a quiet drive, guy in the Saxo overtakes,i said to the GF put the foot down and see what this wee corsa does.Done well to keep up.
Theyr was no dangerous overtaking or "had a race with a mate" style driving involved.
