Is there any way I could send that many without being cut off from my ISP for "spam"?
How do people mailshot so many people without their isp on their backs?
Cheers for any help...

I was told that you can send 30 a minute without your ISP being that bothered.
Would take a while for over 12,000 though

Don't send them via your ISPs mail servers (use a bulk mailer that does the delivery itself).
Or if it's for business purposes just employ one of the many companies that specialise in exactly this...

It would still be using my bandwith though wouldn't it? All the contacts are in Outlook at the moment, reADY to send out.

Do you know if you could import contacts from outlook to a bulk mailer?

It's actually close to 20,000, only need to send 12000 though because they're related to the purpose.
And no Gaz, not direct from Mailing lists.

send 1000 at a time?
most people run their own mail servers (SMTP Server) and send it like that.
If you were to relay it through your own ISP's smtp server then just dont hammer it. Either way sending 12,000 emails in a short amount of time may flag you up.

If you put all the contacts into outlook on the WVPS it would be using the servers bandwidth
