Lost 2 big contracts that would have seen the company through January, so i'm on 3 day weeks through January. After just booking a holiday and looking at moving out in the summer too it's not looking like a great start to 2009
I guess the fact i've still got a job is a bonus but because we have a huge warehouse industry round here that have just fucked off all the agency staff there arent even any temp jobs about.
Ben.

Sorry to hear that Ben, what sort of work do you do again? Could you not find some private jobs?

Thing is, it was totally out of the blue! Until we were given the letter today, we hadnt even a clue that the company was still struggling!

Same story you're hearing everywhere, jobs are at a premium in every single industry.
Just need to hope the peak matches the trough at the other end.

Anyone thinking they are covered because they've been told so I'd urge caution to.
It won't just pass over certain industries or companies. My old man is the guy that wins and runs the contracts for one of the largest construction companies in Scotland and even he is bracing himself for a couple of months time when it starts to take grip.
