I've just got myself a new pair of shoes. First pair in about a year and a half.
They're bright white and obviously totally unmarked, and I know as soon as i wear them out, i'm gonna end up with a big scuff, or black mark on one of them. I'm almost scared to wear them out now 
I wish shoes had Armourfend or something

I wore the shoes santa bought me out on Christmas and they ended up bright red covered in cranberry

that's a trainer.
i wear white trainers all the time, just use a wet wipe every time you get a bit of mud on them.

Its a pain in the arse for me to buy shoes though. I have to buy them online and there are very few i like.

laces in the wash  just don't put the whole trainer in or you'll end up with huge greeny colour scuffs on them

Washing machine? If you are worried about knackering your washer put them inside an old pillowcase, chuck the whole shoe in

scrubbing the laces with a scouring pad brings em up new take them off the trainers first

trainers in the washing machine is fine, ive done loads of pairs of mine, not had a problem.
dirty trainers are a big no no though, look really pikey-ish if they are all shit up.

Take depth readings, then use the two bucket method to clean the dirt away, followed by a freshly killed squirrel to dry them. You can then claybar them to remove any imperfections and apply some earwax by hand for a high gloss.

thats the way to do it
i get the depth reader out in the shop and ask to have a bit of time to check trainers out before i buy them, then check the leather for imperfections, i recently nearly rejected a pair as the coating on the leather was 0.1114364 nanometres out in places, but after giving the sales assistant a mouthful u decided to buy. once i got them home i proceded with the above method, then unpicked all the stitching and cleaned all the thread that holds the shoes together, a lot of work but it is my hobby and if a jobs worth doing.............

just put them in washing machine on a cold wash when they get really dirty, or wash the laces and use baby wipes to clean them with.
