is it just me who thinks it's pathetic that the media have to highlight silly things which make the public complain about it?
i'm talking about prince harry saying ''and theres my paki friend'' on a video he made. it really is his good mate and there were no complaints from the man who it was directed at.
just another hyped up story yet again i guess, does my head in  it's just a word ffs!

i agree its ott and stupid,just as well saying we are british and they are pakistani (brits and pakis),its more due to the term paki being used as an insult for the past 30 years,and now if you call someone a paki like harry did(no means being racist),you get bummed

We've spent hundreds of thousands of pounds educating this guy, making sure he's being brought up in good stead and in my opinion basic manners is something you wouldn't expect the Royals to faulter on (possibly the older ones, not Harry and William) - the fact is that Paki is a derogatory term and everyone knows it. If you call someone a Paki on the street you get charged with racism, everyone knows this. On the same note, you call someone a paki in a video that has the potential to be seen by millions, you're going to get stick for it.
It's not mine or any other member of the public's decision as to whether it's offensive or not but as a nation it's a widely unacceptable term and everyone knows this. Maybe it should be allowed but you've got to think, for example, if you went to South Africa to live and encountered racism because you're white you'd get annoyed. Prince Harry's a fud for saying it and he deserves the publicity it's getting.
I do hate it when certain people sue large supermarkets for making them handle alcohol though, when it was in the job description to start with  but this is a different context.
Usually I'm all for stamping on the head on the PC brigade, but this time there's no defending Harry IMO.

Apparently it was actually said on the video as my friend paki, as in that's his nickname, he's obviously not got a problem with it and how many people would've actually seen that video if it hadn't been sent to the media to put it all over the tv, papers, internet? It's all a load of bollocks.
You can't say anything anymore without it insulting someone, can't support your own country in sports cause it offends all the immigrants that chose to move to here. It's a big fat pile of steaming shite.

We've all been called all kinds of names numerous times in our lives, sometimes it offends us then you forget about it and move on.

I often wonder how far this sort of stuff will go. At which point will they realise that we can't have a completely nanny state where no one can say ANYTHING without causing offence in some way or another. I truly think there will come a point when there is a serious rebellion.
