Non air bag wheel should be easy, should be able to pull it or give it a few bashes from underneath, bit of wd40 etc and a few wallops and of it comes.

Just done one on a mates astra.
Nut off, then spun back on a few threads.
Seat right back, medium force kicking at 9 and 3 on the wheel.
14 years old and it popped off in 5 mins

Important bit said by pow, put the nut back on a little bit. Otherwise it could be a bit messy

Ok i have the steering wheel boss now but i have just been reading in the Haynes manual and it says i will need to replace the retaining lock nut washer when refitting,so i have been down to vauxhall this morning but they don't stock them and i will have to order some in but it will be a pack of them about 20-30 washers but i only need 1
Is it vital to replace the washer or not?
