coming back from devon lastnight my mates corsa over heated and i think hes done the head gasket in. the car is loosing water now and its draining straight through the exhaust. the car wont start now what do people think is rong with it, as i said im pritty sure its the head gasket as the car just suddenly lost power an when we pulled over the engine bay was like a steam room. is it likely he has done any other damage to the engine internals or not and could someone give me an idea of how much this will cost to get fixed. the engine is a 1.2 x12xe. would it be possible to put a 1.2 engine out of a corsa c into it if so is it a direct fit or not. thanks jon

sounds like the head gasket went mate, the head may be warped and may need skimmed. about 40-60 pound to skimm and around 15 quid for a new head gasket

It's a lot less than the 1.4 and 1.6 16v cars.
I think it's about 5 hours labour or something, but a garaged quoted me that.
All I know is it isn't worth changing the engine - simply having the headgasket replaced, head skimmed etc will be a cheaper option.

Fly by wire throttle.
Basically the throttle is controled by a computer, not a cable.
