Stupid money, i dont think any player is worth £107 Million, there should be capped wages and transfers me thinks otherwise football will get worse.

Destined to happen now imo.
Knock on effect will be the most interesting, Ronaldo and Messi will be staying put unless they go to Man City...which they won't.

Where the hell did you get £600k a week Alex? It'll be a £15,000,000 a year contract so just over £300k per week! Still ridiculous

TBH top musicians and film stars, as well as top employees in the business world, earn well more than footballers do - plus have a longer careers. So if the money is there in football, which it is, I dont see why they dont get paid that much.

Problem is it won't always be in football, Chelsea are already back pedalling towards becoming self sufficient.
Man City are on a different plain altogether, unsustainable business model without unnaturally gained wealth.
They'll take an interest in space travel or something next and then the arse falls out the Premiership.

Granted the likes of City are really jumping the gun and spending stupid money they couldnt do without a minted owner - but look at the likes of Madrid who were willing to spend £70m (reported) on Ronaldo. Or even the likes of LA Galaxy who were in a position to use Beckhams popularity to pay him huge amounts. Christ even United are reported to be looking at giving Ronaldo over £150k a week, which although is far from £500k is still a massive amount.
The real big clubs are getting to a position where they can spend that sort of money, as the money is there in football, and it will continue to be for a long long time yet. And Im not talking about the rich owner money, Im on about clubs who are bringing in the huge amounts through massive TV deal, the developing markets such as India and China - that sort of money is not going to go from the Prem, its just going to continue to grow.

Are you saying with all our debt we can still afford to spend that sort of money Cosmo?

Yes and no. You're lucky that a large portion of your debt only needs to be refinanced in 2016 and you've missed all this mess - or you'd of been sold on by now without a doubt.
But generally you're the size club who is bringing in the sort of money to do that sort of thing, and the only reason you are in debt is down to how you were bought out and not really from buying your way to the top.

Well as long as people keep eating those Pukka pies and eating those hospitality prawn sandwiches I think we'll have it covered.

too be fair money doesnt really have an effect on their position in the premier league hence man citys position at this moment in time, if you look at the likes of liverpool, aston villa and arsenal, they havent had millions put into them, they have had similar amounts to spend and they have got to the position they are in by doing what football clubs should be doing, spending little on future potential. aston villa, they have the most english men in their team and they are 4th at the minute.
