Really like Haydock (and Chester). The courses are a lot smaller so a lot less people. Makes it more of a decent day out. The likes of Epsom and Aintree get ridiculously busy.

Correct about being expensive. If you dont get a winner all day your talking £400 minimum for the day and night.

No you're not

Most people who go to the races for a good day out only bet small

I certainly do.

1. We always go for a champagne breakfast somewhere before the meeting starts.
2. I always pay to go in a stand never the tatts. Which means at a big meeting your talking over £100 for a decent stand.
3. I spend on average £20 a race in bets.
4. We always end up having a big slap up meal early evening to keep us going.
5. Almost always a day at the races ends up with a trip to a strippers
6. I always end up staying out till gone 3am.

Add to that taxi's... drinks... etc...

It all adds up.

At least!!

Last time I won big I left the race course with over £500 in my pocket. I arrived home at 5am with £8 odd in my pocket. I was buying bottles of champagne like they were going out of fashion.

The best stand at Aintree (cant remember the name - might be the queen mother) is over that...

Same with Epsom on Derby Day.

Royal Ascot is even more!!
