Hey. My car was running at 100 degrees temperature, then went back down, then came back up. Now checked the header tank, was empty, so topped it up, went for a run about, checked the header tank and it lost a bit more, so ive put a litre in it and seems to be fine now. Im just letting it cool down. Does anyone know why the temperature is high and why im loosing water? My Dad sealed my gasket for me a while ago, and it seemed to stop this problem although its back.
Oh its a 1.2 Corsa LS 16V S Reg

If the water isnt leaking then chances are the headgasket gone

Your dad sealed what gasket the head? ,check your oil level and condition of oil to see if any coolant is getting into the sump, if you keep topping it up but no leaks then it has to be head gasket gone or going.

If it is the head gasket and you don,t fancy doing yourself keep away from the main stealers and get a few quotes from some local small garages, a fair bit of labour involved , parts not to much. good time to also replace the timing belt.
