to have them powder coated they have to be completly bare of any paint what so ever so due to powder coating being baked off at twice the heat of normal paint
powder coating is very tough, very durable, and comes in many colours, just takes alot of prep work to get it ready

depends where you go
costs about £15 per wheel sand blasting
and when my work had powder coating up and running was told a tenner a wheel, so i guess £20 - £30 a wheel for powder coating?

sandblasting is where they aim a gun with sand at the wheel and strip all the old paint off
only prep work needed is P80 grit over to make it smooth before powdering
they can do any colour, even chrome
i really couldnt say on price, best bet is too ring up few powder coating places and ask how much to powder coat 4 wheels, that have been sand blasted, in anthracite and they will give you a quote

ok, so it needs to be sand blasted (by someone specific) then ask them to "powder coat" what kind of finish does that leave:s sorry for all the Q'S

doesnt need to be sandblasted specifically
theres also bead blasting
but good old paint stripper will do the job, just make sure there isnt any paint on there what so ever
can ask for any kind of finish you want, matt finish, gloss finish but if they are good at it its always a super flat and smooth finish

if you want them powder coating all the original paint has to go, sandblasting gaurantees that
reason all the old pant has to go is because the powder coating booths bake at 180 degree Cs and the paint reacts and the wheels all need re-doing again

can have them which ever way you want them, depends what your personal preference is really
would say its about £50 a wheel as an estimate
would be about £40 - £50 painting but companies will mostly just paint the face and leave the rest of the wheel
