i never had any bothers with my xe. to be fair the turbo has suffered a couple of issues. which i could have avoided really anyway. i did about 7k last year in mine with a fair bit of power over std.

cons: they take alot of looking after, like being checked every few days, as soon as you put your foot down reliability comes an issue and not cheap to repair,
typical people say its just a corsa.
pros: its sooooo much fun to drive, embasses alot of bigger cars, good on petrol if not putting ur foot down, your unlikely to see another one unless your at a meet etc

i disagree a lot with them cons. as soon as you put your foot down in any car reliability becomes an issue. they dont really take a lot of looking after. its cheaply built ones that do, by people who havent a clue what theyre doing.
if you know what your doing, and you know how stuff works then theyre not a problem at all. if you buy a fucked one, or you half arse it, it will bite you in the ass. you asked for it though if you ask me by doing it cheaply.

if you can work on it yorself and fix it yourself i see no problems with them. if you cant, then thats why the net gets filled with "it broke" "c20let not running right" posts. as these people shouldnt buy things they cant maintain. its not exactly the kind of car you can take to a local garage really.

i had a couple of problems with mine, mainly sensor related, ive replaced nearly every sensor on the engine now and not had a problem since, the only other problems i had was a smokey turbo which is a common problem,so i had it recon'd and double sealed and that's been fine since, also had a boost hose blow off a couple of times which is nothing major.
as everyone else said depends on how well they have been looked after/how much time and money was spent rebuilding it.

yeah 15 year old sensors sometimes will just give up. cant really call that an issue though. 15 year house electronics just give up aswell. its the nature of electronic components really.
turbo's again have a live span and will blow the seals, its just what happens to std cars nevermind a converted car.

TBH find the right one, see it running, get the right person to do the conversion or do it yourself and you are onto a winner.

oddly my corsa is only 150 quid a year more than my vectra gsi. strange insurance on a car that is seriously fast and dangerous in the wrong hands.
