3.5k
2 years no claims, 3 as of July
20, but 21 a few months
Looking for something newer than my old Rallye I guess, well basically just something more reliable as im going to be taking it to the ring in May, and probably Le Mans in June.
Top of the list so far is Clio ph2 172. Although ive also been considering MX5s. Anything else I should be looking at?
Thanks

Me too, been toying with the idea. However, don't fancy my chances doing 2000 motorway miles a month in one

206 is too slow, not enough fun either. Wonder what insurance on an M3 would be like at 21...

Even the newer shape is doable.

Just how quick are they though? The 172 is certainly cooler, can it make up for what it lacks in coolness in fun factor?

Neither 1.6 or 1.8 will set the world alight in straight line speed, even the mk2 models only had 140bhp.
Drive both, make up your mind by doing that, you might not like the Clio, I don't particularly.
You'll get called gay if you've got the MX5 though remember.

MX5's and MR2's are a seriously good shout. I'd sway for the mx5 personally, drove a late anniversary one and loved it, even the new MX5 is superb very under rated

I'd agree there, great engine, 6 speed box, option of a foldable hard top.
You don't get a manufacturer making a car for 20 years without making huge changes to the recipe very often.

At 21 the M3 will still be crippling to run and insure.
