Had this discussion with a mate earlier, best we could come up with were Steve Bruce and Paolo Di Canio.
Any others?

Pretty sure he received a good few caps, nowhere near enough right enough. Guy was a genius in his day.

I'm sure Dele got a game for Nigeria...
nevermind, just read on wiki, he was selected for the 98 WC squad, but didn't make it, and N.I. tried to steal him but he had to withdraw through injury.
"in October 1998 McMenemy reported that he was unwilling to play for Nigeria, and did not want to commit to Northern Ireland because he had his sights set on playing for England"
haha, Dele for england!
Crewe created him anyway
On the subject, i'd vote Di Canio

Paolo Di Canio
how i man of such talent never appreard on the senior international stage is a massive shame
when trapatoni (sp) was asked when he would call up di canio, he replied with there would have to be a bubonic plague first

Why was that?

because it seems the majority of the italain managers and press regard him as a bit of a joke, as he had major fall outs at milan and Juve, despite for 2 or 3 seasons beeing the best player in the premiership, statisically and IMO

You have the late and sorely missed Tommy Burns to thank for the genius of Paolo Di Canio on these shores.
