Im wanting to convert my coilpack redtop to dizzy, iv bn told il need the wiring loom and ecu of a dizzy redtop. Iv got a superchip ecu but unsure whether it for a coilpack or dizzy set up. Iv got 2 codes off the ecu box and would greatly appreciate it if someone could recognise it as a dizzy or coilpack ecu. . .
its a Bosch superchip ecu, here are the 2 codes off it - 0 261 200 185 and the second 90 299 569.dont know if thats any help to anyone? fingers crossed tho!
Any other information regarding converting the coilpack engine to run with a dizzy set-up would be much appreciated as this is my first engine change. Cheers Jack. . .

coil is dizzy.
Do you mean coilpack?
To change a COILPACK to dizzy you'll need:
a distributor
coil
cream injectors
2.5bar fuel regulator
ECU
entire engine loom
i.e. it's not worth it. If your ecu is for the early engine, just sell it on and stick with the late stuff. The late ones are better, and more reliable.

"harder harsher revving" what the fuck? I could let you drive 2 cars that were XE'd and you'd never be able to tell the difference between coilpack/dizzy.
Oh, you need to swop the cams aswell.

most vauxhall cams accept either the dizzy/coil pack iirc
and they dizzy versions do generally rev faster and have a harsher downfal from the revvs

which is NOTHING to do with the dizzy. It is to do with the flywheel (flat or pot type). Which can be changed anyway.

Yeah i know its due to the flywheel mate, coil pack engine has a fuk off inch plate of unnessasary shite! i kno it has nothing to do with the dizzy but its a good way of relating to either type, especially as the coilpack comes standard with the bulky flywheel and the dizzy dosent. . . i can put the 2 ltr 8 v flywheel on to replace the standard one right? ( so i am told)

8v fly dont fit.
Use one off a early dizzy xe engine.
You will also need to change the throttle body/tps, and the afm to convert it as there both different.
