Well, I got back yesterday.
Went to Cervinia on the Italian/Swiss border. Had a wicked time, there was 4ft of snow in the resort, 2 ft of which fell while I was there, since the start of the season they've had 9 metres snowfall. Had 3 days of blue skies and the rest either misty or just lots of pow falling.
No injuries on any of the 24 that went with me which is good, heard that someone was killed by an avalance though during the week I was there
So apart from that, plenty of great riding, some nice hands down action on the Pistes and a good laugh all round

How do you know where to even begin looking as to where to go?
I really really want to go skiing, but just haven't got any idea where's good to go, what to look for etc

Couple of my mates are away boarding up north on Thursday. It's something I'd like to get into, they all rave about it.

My dad is paying But when i was looking i was looking at Bulgaria anyway, i've never been before, so need tuition etc... and the Bulgarian places were about £100 each cheaper for tuition, lift passes, ski hire, things like that.
Holidays were about the same everywhere in europe though, so if you can ski/board already there's a lot more choice

Bram, they've had continous snow in the Three valleys for about 2.5 weeks now. My sister said the same, the end of December - middle of January weren't brilliant and they didn't have much snow but from middle of January on its been good. (She lives out there)

I can ski, but its just things like wheres best to go?
Austria, Swizerland, France, Italy, canada (jsut as cheap to go there as it is europe isn't it?) etc....
then which resorts are good? is like a normal package holiday? land, go to tourist coach, go on coach to resort, dropped off at appartment etc.....
I hear people save a lot more though by doing it themselves?
Where's good for beginners/intermediates? Donna needs some more training, but we only need a mild slope and half hour and she'll be back up to speed....
So no, im not stupid about it, just don't know wheres best to go...
Then theres the snow cover, some places have it, some don't. Don't want to be spending £800+ on a break to have no damn snow when I get there
Best to get as a package?
Or best to get flights and accomodation, then sort out ski hire, lift passes etc when out there?
