How the fuck! Every time i do it it looks unrealistic. Tried playing with various things but still looks fake.
Any tips?

How did you try for black and end up with green?
Desaturate it and then turn the brightness or lightness down, lightness might get it more black, brightness tends to make stuff grey.
Or you could use Variations, set it on all the way on Coarse and use the Darken bit, from a really light colour two clicks is enough so play around with it.

It always looks like candy paint, tried another, just playing with a number of things
How do you get the colour that you want? Say i wanted the car Arden blue for example?

Try variations like I said before, but use a colour instead of darken. Fiddle with the coarse/fine setting though, otherwise you might end up with too much colour.
I'm about to do it now so I'll let you know how it goes Different pic though, colour coding the Audi
Alternatively the colour replacement tool Right click on the brush, and change it to that. Select a blue and get cracking
