Hey all, I have a problem with my hubs on the corsa. They are Chris Astley hubs to suit the outer 2.0l cvs and the original corsas hub carrier. I have slight movement between the hub and the carrier and it bothers me, is this right?
The bearings are brand new n i havent even drove the car properly yet for them to wear, tightened the hub nut as much as i could but still no difference, driveshafts are also Chris Astley motorsport jobbies n are definatly corsa ones n cv's are in good workin order, but still there is a couple of mil of play.
Anyone got any ideas? im baffeled

No makes no odds if thier ABS or not
So the hub is loose in the carrier?
or
The shaft is loose once its tight?
Have you put the big washer on before the castle nut?

How did you press the whole lot together?

Pressed the lot togther with bearing drifts n hammer but were all fine when i assembled them, no nasty grinding noises or roughness just this annoying 2 or 3mm of play.
The washer for the wheel side (before the castle nut) is on but a friend of mine suggest that a extra washer is needed between the cv and bearing maybe hence the 3mm play im getting.
This is drivin me CRAZY

i am having same problem mate and in about 2-3days of driving it sheers the hub some one suggested a washer before the bearing and a washer after the bearing to stop play not tried this yet as waiting on new hub to arrive all else fails turning to gsi shafts and mk2 cavy inners
