I'm sick of seeing people using Sat Navs whilst driving and swerving all over the road. I think police should penalize people using them whilst driving the same as people using mobile phones.

They should be penalized for being idiots.
I manage to use the satnav on my phone between my legs without swerving.

Did it actually say...
"In... five... hundred yards, please take the next left into a ditch."

I generally think that driving offences don't represent the level of risk present in the driving. Mostly because it's easier to focus on things like speeding, crashing and parking than actual bad driving.

People who stick there god damn sat nav directly under there rear view mirror should be shot.

It is already illegal.. Doing anything that distracts from concentrating on the road can be considered as dangerous driving or driving without due care and attention.

Good idea, Until some scrote grabs it in summer whilst you're sat in traffic with the window open.

I put mine in the middle of the windscreen. Dont see what the problem is with it, its as easy to see there as a manufacturers dash mounted one. Plus the passenger can look at it and make any changes to it with it being in the middle.

Ok, let me rephrase it. Slap bang in the middle of the windscreen both vertically and horizontally.

Yeah, I hate it when people put it in the middle of the screen, obviously blocking their view (vertically)

ok that is silly. mine goes as low as possible but in the middle. its not like you are watching tv anyway. i find a glance at my sat nav is the same as a look in the rear view mirror.

If you weren't really on your phone why do you not contest it, surely phone logs would show you weren't.
